
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She is also the captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division in professional women's soccer. From 2018 to 2020, she served as co-captain for the US women's national soccer team alongside Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Shortly after graduating early from the University of California, Berkeley where she was a player for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was drafted number one overall in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her professional debut at the club , and also helped the team win its league championship. Morgan was 22 years old at the time and the youngest player on the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. She scored the match-winning goal in the match against Canada in the 123rd minute of the semi-final at the 2012 London Olympics. She ended 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists as she joined Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and record 20 assists within the same year, she became the sixth and youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. She was subsequently named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan played a key role in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. Morgan was selected on the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
