Anamaria Marina is a Romanian actor. Her first screen appearance was in Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 movie for which she won the British Academy Television Award as the Best Actress. Speaks French, German, English and Romanian fluently. Her father is the theater professor for one of the best Romanian acting schools. She won the Best Female Actor Award for the Year in 2000 at the Gala for Young Actors in Mangalia. In 2008 the European Film Promotion Board recognized her as a European Shooting Star. The debut film of the actress, Sex Traffic won an award from the British Academy of Television, to be the Best Actress. She also won numerous awards for her role in 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days a Romanian Art Film. In 2007, she was a part of in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 weeks si 2 zile (4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days) directed by Cristian Mungiu, which was awarded the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI prize). She also appeared in the film of Francis Ford Coppola Youth Without Youth. In 2008, she appeared as Yasim of Angwar in the BBC Five-episode Miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca played the role of Yasim Anwar on Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven, in addition to in the Romanian Drama Boogie. She later played Irma's German grandmother in Fury the film, which came out in 2014.
